Our final Heard Word of the year is a special holiday edition, so bust out those ugly Christmas jumpers. If you’re a fan of the animated shows The Fairly OddParents, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Care Bears, or the best-selling graphic novels Primer and the Incredible Hulk, you are a fan of our next Heard Word featured writer. Join Tom Krajewski and discover how to combine words and images for maximum dramatic and comedic effect. Also, find out why he still envies the few remaining hairs on Brad’s head.
That’s Monday the 15th of December 2025 from 5-7pm GMT on Zoom.
To get feedback on your work sign up to be one of our presenting writers. There are both 20-minute (1500 words) and 5-minute (700 word “lighting round”) slots available. You can sign up here: https://docs.google.com/…/1TfI5…/edit…
Even if you aren’t presenting, please join us to offer feedback. Here is the link. https://bournemouth-ac-uk.zoom.us/j/85437743352…
A bit more about our Featured Guest:
Tom has written and produced animation and comic books for two decades, earning an Emmy nomination for his work on Nickelodeon’s The Fairly OddParents. Other series he’s worked on include Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Snoopy Show, Iron Man, Looney Tunes, Scooby Doo, Care Bears, Power Rangers, DC’s Batwheels, The Penguins of Madagascar and Buddy Thunderstruck. In 2020 he co-created the new DC Comics superhero Primer, and he writes all of the character’s graphic novels, with the debut book still a best-seller. The first sequel has been released, and two more are currently being penned. He graduated from Emerson College in Boston with a degree in Film, and he currently lives in Hawaii with his wife and dog. He got his start in the entertainment industry as a production assistant on the comedy show Talk Soup when he was hired by Brad Gyori — a man who possessed a luxurious head of hair but also possessed poor judgement of competent production assistants.
