Bradford Gyori, Editor in Chief

Brad is the Programme Leader of the MA in Creative Writing and Publishing and has worked as a writer-producer for MTV, VH1, E!, FX and HBO Online, and he was the Head Writer of the EMMY winning Talk Soup. His fiction has been published in The Ghost Story, Café IrrealCoffin Bell, The Mystery Tribune and others. His book Creating the Interactive Digital Narrative will be published by Bloomsbury in 2025. Abbey Woolgar, Managing Editor

Abbey is a PhD researcher at Bournemouth University and a MACWP graduate. Her memoir Just Another Mum, about raising twins on the autistic spectrum, inspired her current research. She is the author of Out of Sight, Out of Mind: The Abysmal Octogenarians, Little Wings, Big Dreams, The Moon Blinked Back, and the Spin Cycle Squad series, among others. Her writing celebrates humour, resilience, and the joy of human connection.

Mike Garley, Fiction Editor

Mike is the EMMY-nominated writer of Adventure Time, Wallace and Gromit, and Image Comics’ 24 panels anthology, as well as creator-owned projects The Kill Screen, Samurai Slasher, and Our Final Halloween. Mike has consulted on Transmedia storytelling for beActive Media, developed game concepts with Masters of Pie, and Wickety Splits, and has contributed articles to Comic Heroes, and The UK Scriptwriters Survival Handbook: or How to Earn an Actual Living as a Writer.

Hannah Hancock-Smith, Associate Fiction Editor

Hannah is a student on the MA Creative Writing and Publishing course at Bournemouth University. Over the past two years, she has gained significant experience working in the school travel industry. She pride herself on being detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.She enjoys writing contemporary fiction and regularly works on short stories, exploring modern themes through character-driven narratives. Her main aspiration is to become a published author and novelist.

Sebastian Lewis, Poetry Editor

Baz is a writer from Dorset, and The Story Works’ inaugural Young Poet Laureate for Bournemouth (2025-26). His work has been published in ANMLYEcheFull House, and elsewhere. They have also worked in collaboration with Lyra Poetry Festival, The Poetry Society, and the Oxford Poetry Library to help make words happen.

Gracie Jones, Associate Poetry Editor

Gracie is a writer, poet, and playwright who has had multiple poems published, including Goodnight, in The Broken Spine’s Brutalist  Anthology. Gracie has also completed work experience at Treehouse Digital LTD, where she worked with professional filmmakers, allowing her to discover a love for storytelling.

Amy Scott-Ringrow, Outreach Editor

Amy is a Doctoral Researcher who teaches post-production and TV studio production within the media production department at Bournemouth University. Her research explores the impact of US Culture Wars on popular culture. She graduated from the MA Creative Writing and Publishing course in 2021 and returned as a PTHP lecturer in 2023, having completed her PGCE.

Jay Caitlin Hildreth, Associate Outreach Editor

Jay is the Editor-in-Chief at Fresher Publishing and created the Ink Tide Writing Prize, an international competition sponsored by Bad Hand coffee, as well as Fresh Voices Magazine, an online literary magazine designed to raise awareness for social issues. Jay enjoys various hobbies, including reading and gardening, and talks continuously about coffee and tennis. Having suffered from Lyme Disease for most of her life, she is also passionate about raising awareness for chronic illnesses. 

Saeed Rashid, Art Director

Saeed is an award-winning photographer based on the south coast of England. He is a Fourth Element Team Diver, the Underwater Photography Editor for Scubaverse, and a technical tutor at Bournemouth University. Since 2015 he has supervised the art direction of all publishing outputs produced by MACWP including the annual Bournemouth Writing Prize Anthology.

Divya Vinod Gilatar, Associate Art Director

Divya is a writer, illustrator, and educator from Mumbai, India. She holds one Master’s degree in Ancient Indian Culture, History and Archaeology and another in Early Childhood Education, and is currently pursuing an MA in Creative Writing & Publishing at BU. She also has a Diploma in Illustrating Children’s Books from London Art College. She is now working on picture books that weave visual storytelling and text with emotional depth and cultural nuance.

Leah Nichols, Associate Blog Editor

Leah is an MA Creative Writing and Publishing student at Bournemouth University. She has a BA Honours in Creative Writing and English Literature. For twelve years she worked in education as a learning mentor. Recently, she left to pursue a career in the writing world! 

Emmaneulla Ejime, Marketing Director

Ella is a Lecturer in Marketing and Communications at Bournemouth University, with expertise in digital marketing, brand strategy, and consumer behaviour. She holds an LL.B , LL.M (International Commercial Law), MBA (Global Strategy & Entrepreneurship, Distinction), and a PhD in Marketing. Her research focuses on digital communication, consumer trust, and multi-channel engagement across industries.

Julie Salt, Newsletter Editor

A former BBC journalist, Julie completed a BU Creative Writing master’s in 2018-19 and self-published her debut poetry book in 2020. She’s now writing a transformational memoir about her father dying during the pandemic. Her themes: fear of death, generational loss, love, and family.

Dale Hurst, Podcast Host

Dale is a novelist and short story writer, specialising in historical fiction, crime, mystery and black comedy. He independently published his mystery series, The Berylford Scandals, starting with the novel, Lust & Liberty, in 2018, followed by its sequel, Sin & Secrecy, in 2020. His nonfiction works focus on arts and entertainment, food, finance, and human-interest. Dale is a graduate of Solent University, Southampton. He earned his Master’s in Creative Writing and Publishing from BU in 2021.

Daniela Mela, Website Designer

Daniela has been a content editor for Caterpillar, eBay, and Google. A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, she has taught at Arts University Bournemouth and Bournemouth University, where she is also pursuing a PhD focused on Real-time Animation and Education. Passionate about promoting equality and international cooperation, she works as a designer and film director with charities across the UK, USA, and Europe.
